The birthplace of sword yoga, WeaponUp is a unique online studio and amazing community that’ll take you from absolute beginner to graceful warrior.
WeaponUp is a sword yoga fusion practice created from the combination of the tai chi and kung fu straight sword, qi gong, intuitive movement and vinyasa yoga.
Through sword flow, breathwork, and creative sequencing, our online studio helps you build strength, balance, and flexibility — both on and off the mat.
Over time, this practice refines how you move and how you show up — shaping you into what we call a Graceful Warrior.

What students are saying
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WeaponUP! It has been such a life changer. I had never held a sword before starting WeaponUP and now getting on the mat with my sword is one of the best parts of my day. It’s so empowering, I feel so badass, and it makes me feel so grounded and focused. It has been such a refreshing way to learn about myself and how to challenge myself. And let’s be real, I feel like one of the main characters in one of my fantasy books! Sabina is such a great instructor! She sets such a good pace, she’s super creative with her flows, and always makes sure that you have the basics down so that you can build upon your flows and flowers and keep learning new things.
I have nothing but positive feedback to give you, firstly I love this practice and the fusion of yoga with martial arts and the sword, it's so different from anything else I have done before and makes me feel empowered and adds some spice to the usual yoga practice.
I’m Carmen and I started WeaponUP in June of 2024 and I’ve been completely hooked on it since then. I’ve never done any spinning let alone with a sword and my flexibility was practically nonexistent. I never imagined that I would be spinning a sword and doing splits, but I’m doing it and feeling like I’m a character from Demon Slayer! I love WeaponUP because I adore Sabina’s teaching approach. She great at simplifying the practice and is patient when explaining concepts. I haven’t joined a live class yet because I’m shy, but she uploads all her classes to the studio so everyone can keep up. Furthermore, she is genuine, hilarious, and inspiring. I can confidently say that practicing WeaponUP has been the highlight of my year. Can’t wait to see what else is in store for us & super excited to see the community grow.
This is awesome! What you are creating is super unique and sexy. It’s also extremely hard training with all those kicks!
I’ve been practicing sword yoga with TheWeaponUp for a month now, and it’s been an amazing journey! This is my first time doing yoga, and the mix of movement and mindfulness has really transformed my practice. I feel stronger, more focused, and super excited to keep going. Each session is a fun challenge and brings so much joy. I can’t wait to see how I grow with TheWeaponUp! 😊♥️Thank you for sharing your experience and giving me this opportunity to grow!
Joined last month and I am LOVING IT! I'm using a lightsaber instead of a sword and am living out all my Jedi dreams. Plus its toning my arms and shoulders, and the mobility in my wrists is getting so much better. Thanks!!
I'm new to WeaponUp, I never wielded a sword before. I'm not into yoga either but I know it's good for my body. One day I saw @theWeaponUp on Instagram and was so stunned with how beautiful and graceful it is. I immediately thought "oh my God, I look for the right workout no more". Even though I wasn't sure of my skills and I don't even have a sword I decided to give it a chance. I like how it feels when I start with 0 sword swinging skill and after a few days of practice I could see results and be proud of my little success. It almost feels like dancing! To me WeaponUp is the only type of yoga that I truly like! ❤️
I love WeaponUP because it's empowering and provides a sense of both strength and stillness. The online program is easy to access and I love training at my own pace, Sabina's videos are easy to follow. The improvement with dedication and practice is great for self-esteem! &The strength training and focus are a win win for mental health and physical stamina.
Hi, I'm Julia and I LOVE WeaponUp! As a huge fantasy nerd, being able to work with swords is a dream. Whenever I step on the mat, I feel like I'm training right next to my favorite book characters. Although I won't be joining any quests anytime soon, through WeaponUP, I've been able to explore completely new sides of myself and do things I never thought I would be able to. It's so empowering, you can't help but feel more confident and strong in who you are. I was a little nervous at first, but Sabina is such an incredible instructor and makes sure everything is shown or explained in multiple ways. Whether I'm doing a live class or watching a past class, I never feel left behind. One of the things I love most about WeaponUP is how much you can make it your own. There are so many ways to feel the flow and truly have fun with it. So grab a sword and I'll see you on the mat!
That was so great! Love the way you incorporate the sword with the yoga and paced for me to follow along Thank you for sharing, great job. I will definitely be feeling sore tonight!

Frequently asked questions
-
While we occasionally host or attend in-person events, WeaponUp is currently primarily an online studio.
-
New content is added to the WeaponUp studio regularly. This includes new classes, structured series, special programs, and occasional live sessions or events. We continue to expand the library with fresh flows, drills, and themed series while also hosting live or community-based experiences throughout the year. Members can expect an evolving studio that grows with the practice — offering both consistency and new inspiration over time. Our focus is on quality, progression, and longevity, so content is released intentionally to support real skill-building and sustainable practice.
-
Yes — you can cancel your membership at any time. There are no long-term commitments, and you’ll continue to have access through the end of your current billing period.
-
Yes — WeaponUp membership is available globally, and you can practice from anywhere in the world with access to our full online studio. At this time, we only ship swords within the United States. However, we’ve made it easy for our international members to get started. We have a detailed blog on our website that outlines exact sword specifications and provides guidance on where to purchase a suitable straight sword in your region. Wherever you’re practicing from, WeaponUp remains the same — structured instruction, adaptable movement, and a global community moving together.
-
While we don't currently ship our swords outside of the US, we did write a blog article to help non-US WeaponUp members find suitable swords in their respective regions: https://weaponup.com/blog/where-to-get-a-sword-for-your-weaponup-sword-yoga-practice
-
No you do not. While a traditional straight sword is recommended, any similar-length object, like a stick or even an umbrella, can be effective. The focus is on the movement and technique.
-
Our WeaponUp straight sword is intentionally lightweight, weighing approximately 1–1.5 lbs (450–680 g). This weight allows you to move with control, grace, and endurance while still building strength, coordination, and awareness through repetition.
-
The sword is semi-flexible by design. This flexibility absorbs impact, reduces strain on the wrists and shoulders, and allows for smooth, flowing movements. A rigid blade would be unsafe and fatiguing for continuous practice — flexibility makes the sword safer, quieter, and more forgiving, especially for beginners.
-
The blade is made from spring steel, a durable metal designed to flex and return to its original shape without bending permanently. The handle is lightweight and balanced to support long practice sessions, and the sword has been traditionally built specifically for tai chi, wushu, and movement-based training — not combat or cutting.
-
Ideally, we recommend a space with about 8-foot ceilings and the area of two yoga mats placed side-by-side, forming a small square. This gives you enough room to move comfortably and explore the full range of sword motions. That said, WeaponUp can always be modified for smaller spaces. Many of our members practice in apartments, bedrooms, or shared living areas. We simply encourage you to clear a comfortable area, be mindful of your surroundings, and move at a pace that feels safe and grounded for you. Comfort and awareness matter more than perfection — if you have space to move and breathe, you have space to practice. ⚔️
-
Absolutely! WeaponUp is designed for individuals at all levels of fitness and experience. We offer a range of classes from beginner to advanced, ensuring everyone can find a comfortable starting point and progress at their own pace.
-
Before starting any new physical regimen, we always recommend consulting with your physician, especially if you have injuries, are pregnant, or are returning to movement after time away. WeaponUp is designed with the belief that the practice should fit your body — not the other way around. Every movement can be adapted to support different levels of strength, mobility, balance, and experience. We offer very beginner-friendly series, including our Ten Days to Sword Mastery, which teaches the foundations of sword handling, posture, and movement step by step. From there, flows can always be personally modified — whether that means reducing range of motion, slowing the pace, practicing seated or standing, or focusing on specific skills — while still retaining the integrity and technique of the sword practice. Our goal is to help you move with confidence, safety, and ownership of your body, no matter where you’re starting from.
