Double Sword Day 3: Overhead Flower

with Sabina Storberg

from Mastering the Double Sword

Welcome back for day three of our double sword series! Today, we’re taking the overhead flower you already know and doubling the challenge. This move is all about smooth transitions and creating beautiful, expansive shapes above your head. • What We’re Mastering: We are learning the double sword overhead flower. We’ll start with our hands crossed, bring the swords just above our heads, and then extend them out wide. • The Foundation: To really feel confident here, you’ll want to be well-versed in the single sword overhead flower before we bring both hands into play. • What to Expect: We’ll practice several high-repetition sets of ten together. We’ll start standing to get the feel of the hand cross—practicing with the left hand above and then the right—before adding a lower body component to move from side to side. • Pro Tip: The key is to keep your swords on the "outside" so they have plenty of space and don't hit each other as you flow. Take a deep breath, find your space, and let’s get those swords moving!
