Ovulatory: Expression

Welcome to the Ovulatory phase of The Cycle. Today's class is all about Expression. We are going to be challenging ourselves by learning a new hand balance posture and culminating the class with a flow. What you can expect: • Breathing: We enter the flow with three deep grounding breaths with our sword. • Stacked Leg Flexibility: Stacking one leg on top of the other with the knees pointing forward we take deep grounding breaths while doing the "cat cow" technique seated. • Seated Straddle: Working on our hamstring and hip flexibility we enter into a seated straddle where we perform multiple overhead flower forward folds on both sides. • Eight Angle Pose: For the first time in the studio we introduce "Eight Angle Pose", which is an intermediate/advanced balance posture. We take it step by step to slowly enter into Eight Angle Pose on both the right and the left side. Expressive Flow: • Using the sword we enter into an expressive flow of the forward fold, Warrior 2 with the sword, multiple flowers which then leads to a standing balance. We enter into a cross legged stance followed by a seated ab flow. Final Closing: • Thread the Sword: Bringing the sword underneath the armpit and enter into a side body stretch • Tuck in the knees and stretch side to side before entering into our final Savasana.
