Your Favourite Book: Slow Burn

with Yasmine Yokoyama-Muhammad

from Your Favourite Book

Join Yasmine in this next "chapter" of Your Favourite Book series, where literature meets movement in this "Slow Burn" themed class. This session focuses on a slow and controlled sword flow inspired by one of fiction's most evocative tropes. Whether you are focusing on precision or fluid movement, this class offers a comprehensive learning experience: • Ambidextrous Mastery: As always you will learn to perform the same flow on both your right and left sides. • Controlled Movement: The session emphasizes slow, overexaggerated movements to mimic the deliberate pace of a slow burn story. • Full Body Engagement: You will integrate footwork, torso twists, and sword techniques into a single, cohesive routine. What to Expect • Warmup: Prepare your body with a series of neck and shoulder stretches, followed by "snake charmer" wrist mobility exercises and a full-body figure-eight infinity flow to build agility and range of motion. • Technical Flow (Right Side): Learn the sequence starting on your right, featuring a gracefyk cross-leg overhead spin, and the ground-level snake charmer movement. • Technical Flow (Left Side): Master the same sequence on your left side, incorporating a slow, overexaggerated half-flower into a full-body figure-eight sweeping motion. • "Slow Burn" Finale: Combine all elements into a final fluid sequence that includes a dual-handed outside flower and a graceful release, capturing the intensity of the trope. This class is the perfect way to practice WeaponUp, bringing the drama and deliberate tension of your favourite stories to your fitness routine.
