I really wish there was a close up of just her hand as it did this. I keep wanting to twirl it like a baton, and that's not right. And even though she moves slow, it's still way roo fast for me. What I am going to try to do is to take screenshots on my computer and focus only on her hand and make a step by step guidebook. I have always struggled with eye hand coordination as it pertains to sports and unfortunately my learning style is text and photos in a process. I have the exact same problem with dance as I do here. Once I see it on paper, I can get it better, so I am gonna try to make my own booklet to learn from.

Love it - waiting on my sword still but going through the movements now should help me later when it gets here :)

Thanks so much for the slow down version!! I even slowed down the playback speed to go slow with each movement. Wow did that burn! Also, the amount of times I whacked myself on my head and butt was numerous! :-)

Usually I have trouble following along new things like this. Really appreciate the slow speed and how much it was broken down. Not going to lie I still slowed down the speed to half and replayed a couple times, but it really helped! This was fun, going to practice!

Forced my husband to watch and make sure I was staying in form. 😅 hula hoop flow prepared me for the figure 8's. Am happy that experience is working here.

DAY 2. I feel this is where the fun beginnings but oh boy, I’m tired!! My arms and shoulders need so much more practice… and I’m sure that practicing with the actual sword will make it look nicer than with the remote control😅 I’m definitely going to repeat all these classes when I get my sword in hopefully 3 more weeks. So exciting! 🤩 AG

Great video! I have taught many people to do these spins. I was taught a different name for the flowers that is specific to where I learned it from so when you showed what they were, I was excited that I knew them!

I am really struggling with the outside flower. I do not understand whether the sword rotates with your wrist or if your fingers rotate it. I hope my question makes sense. I tried to view it in slow motion, but I am still confused. I am dislexic so be gentle with me :'(

Having same issue, dont know if just not doing it correct or if flexibility just that bad.

It is SO IMPORTANT to work both sides. I am hoping there will be some practice using two swords. I generally prefer dao, but most of these techniques apply well to dao and jian

When I first tried the basic outside flower, I struggled with getting my wrist to be flexible enough to do the movement, but with practice it got easier on both sides. Unexpectedly, once I started getting comfortable with the figure eights, it seemed like I had a natural affinity for the inverted form. Now I can flow between both of them almost at will. You’re a really great teacher, Sabina! I’ve been practicing with pirate style sabers until my straight sword shows up. I can hardly wait to get my hands on it! 🖤🗡️

Love this and honestly I thought it was going to be harder to master. Left side is abit harder but practice makes perfect 👌
