Double Sword Day 2: Figure Eight
with Sabina Storberg
from Mastering the Double Sword
In this session, we are taking what you know about the figure eight and doubling the fun! This movement is a natural extension of practicing each side individually, and you will find it surprisingly intuitive once we get moving. • What You’ll Learn: We are mastering the double sword figure eight, focusing on how to bring one hand above the other and then back in to flow into an "outside flower." • The Foundation: Before we dive in, you should be super comfortable performing the figure eight on both your right and left sides individually. • What to Expect: We will practice together through high-repetition sets of ten, alternating which hand is on top (right or left) to make sure both sides feel strong and balanced. • Why You’ll Love It: While it’s a unique stylistic choice, the double figure eight is a fantastic and fun way to transition between different spaces in your sword flows. Grab your swords, bend your knees, and let's get started!
