The Cauldron begins with a reverse outside flower. This initial movement in the wrist gives the cauldron stir its momentum.
The main movements include:
- Reverse Outside Flower: Start the move with a reverse outside flower.
- Stir the Cauldron: When the sword is low, imagine a big cauldron in front of you. Use the tip of the sword to draw a huge circle, stirring the cauldron.
- Overhead Circle: Once the sword is back to the front, lift it up overhead, create a circle, and then bring it out to the side.
- The video will guide you through practicing the move slowly on the right side. When performing the full move, your non-dominant hand can come up to meet the top of the sword, gripping it as you strike out.
Remember to hinge at your hips to create plenty of room for your sword; the more movement you have, the cooler the move will look. Practice this drill, and you will get quicker.
